As a candidate for alderman, I receive all the information that the current Council members receive every Friday. An officer of the Neenah Police Department comes to my door and hand-delivers the weekly packet.
Today I received two supplementary packets relating to a special Council meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 27th, at 6:30pm, just before the regularly scheduled Public Services & Safety Committee meeting.
There are two items on the agenda:
- Consideration of CDA recommendation regarding amendment to Alta Realty, LLC Parking Lease for the Church Street Parking Ramp
- Update on Plexus Redevelopment Project
- Delayed Closing on Ground Lease
- Restructuring of KC Parcel Acquisition
The first is to authorize officially the change to the parking lease agreement that the city has with Alta Resources. The details of the changes can be found <here>. The special Council meeting had to be called, in my view, because someone forgot that any other lease agreement for the Church St. parking ramp -- namely with Plexus -- has to be approved by the current leaseholder, namely Alta. I'm certain that the Council will authorize the amendment to the Alta lease agreement.
Secondly, there has been a snag or two regarding property in the Plexus Redevelopment Project. The KC parcel acquisition relates to the .9 acre irregular plot of land currently owned by KC to the north of the Plexus development along the river.
There will not be any opportunity for public comment, unlike at a normal Council meeting. So if you're interested in these goings-on, you'll have to remain quietly in your seat.
